Under Armour, the American sportswear and lifestyle brand, was founded by a college athlete in the 1990s. In the years since, it has grown to become one of the most recognizable brands in professional and amature sports, as well as in lifestyle apparel. Under Armour offers shipping to customers in France.
A then-college-aged American football player was inspired to create the very first Under Armour shirts when he noticed his cotton t-shirt would become drenched in sweat following a workout or practice, but his moisture-wicking compression shorts remained dry.
Following the initial batch of shirts, the Under Armour brand has significantly expanded to include lines of clothing for cold weather (ColdGear), the gridiron (TurfGear), wet or harsh weather (AllseasonGear), and even the street/ leisure (StreetGear). Under Armor’s also entered into celebrity athlete partnership deals with baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripkin Jr, NBA legend Steph Curry, and champion golfer Jordan Spieth.
Under Armour purchased digital app company MapMyFitness in 2013, and two years later (in 2015) went on to purchase nutrition and fitness app MyFitnessPal.
